Sesshin and Zazenkai Retreats
Sesshin is an intensive Zen retreat dedicated to continuous meditation practice. It offers a structured container of silence, stillness, and communal support that helps deepen concentration and insight. In sesshin, there are daily dharma talks, chanting services, and time to meet in dokusan/daisan (private interview) with a teacher. By simplifying our days and committing to steady practice, we cultivate clarity, resilience, and compassion.

A Zazenkai is a short Zen retreat focused on mediation practiced together in silence. Unlike a longer retreat such as sesshin, a zazenkai is usually half a day or a full day of practice. A zazenkai offers practitioners a chance to step out of daily routines and enter a deeper rhythm of practice, while still being accessible to those who may not be able to attend a multi-day retreat.
